- Bachelor's Degree in electrical or mechanical engineering or equivalent work experience in facilities management required
- Seven (7) to nine (9)+ years experience in clinical facilities management required, ideally with significant experience supporting multiple locations over a wide geographic area.
- Three (3) to five (5) years of experience in supervisory position.
- Project Management experience preferred.
- Knowledge of all phases of construction including reading blueprints (architectural, mechanical, electrical and plumbing) and building maintenance required.
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite required.
- Certification in OSHA programs and practices strongly preferred.
- Electrical, HVAC, electronic security, and disaster planning experience preferred.
- Demonstrated mechanical and electrical knowledge and repair abilities.
- Ability to demonstrate mature judgment, initiative and critical thinking.

- Abortion patients are cared for at each of our health centers, and in part through the administrative, support, and other non-clinical services provided at all PPLA locations, and by all PPLA employees. Supporting these critical services is an essential job duty, and a fundamental responsibility of all employees and contractors.
- Provide guidance and direction to proactively resolve Facilities-related issues in a timely manner.
- Lead the building maintenance activities of the Agency including grounds maintains functions.
- Review work for quality, accuracy, and completeness.
- Perform periodic inspections of facilities and projects and oversees efforts to proactively correct problems.
- Monitor the system of control to ensure that maintenance and supporting contracts are in effect and observed on equipment at all sites and offices.
- Plan and manage upgrade and refurbishment projects for existing locations, coordinating with interdisciplinary teams with diverse interests, as well as managing outside vendors.
- Supervise direct reports: hiring, determining workload and delegating assignments, training, monitoring and evaluating performance, and initiating corrective or disciplinary actions.
- Monitor and evaluate operations, programs, processes and/or practices for quality and cost effectiveness; make recommendations for improvement.
- Responsible for developing and maintaining a Preventative Maintenance Program within the confines of an annual budget. This includes all heating, air conditioning, as well as maintenance and repair of buildings and equipment for all PPLA locations.
- Analyze and monitor facility systems: HVAC, mechanical, lighting, etc.
- Manages contracted services within their area of responsibility and actively monitors performance criteria per scope of work and contractual agreements for contracted services under construction, remodeling, repair work, contract cleaning service and preventative maintenance vendors.
- Oversee acquisition, installation, maintenance and disposition of furniture and equipment.
- Serve as Facilities liaison with Risk Committees dealing with building issues.
- Prepare budgets ,secure estimates and negotiate cost quotes for department, including the utilities energy savings program.
- Maintain up-to-date records for all state and federal regulations.
- Support Risk and Quality Management by proactively communicating identified risks to COO in order to minimize risk when possible.
- Create and implement strategies to minimize the utility utilization of all the centers including electricity and HVAC, to reduce cost and improve services.
- Oversee and manage the beginning of each turn-key project, including details such as space planning, engineering, furniture and design evaluations.
- Responsible for timely implementation of operational capital budgets according to the approved budget amounts including submittals, architectural, engineering, and closeouts.
- Establish and ensure safe environment by performing quarterly safety OSHA audits to all facilities. Maintains knowledge of and oversees compliance with ADA regulations, OSHA and general safety industry standards.
- Oversees the contingency plans to meet needs during power outages, gas leaks, fire and life safety emergencies, including procedures for the operation and post incident evaluation of the facility.

Planned Parenthood Los Angeles is seeking an experienced Director of Facilities to work at our downtown headquarters office, and all Planned Parenthood Los Angeles (PPLA) locations. ( Electrical/Mechanical/Structural Engineering and/or General Contractor experience preferred )
Reporting to the VP of Facilities & Security, the Director of Facilities is responsible for the day-to-day facility operations involving the maintenance, repair and modification of all PPLA locations including HVAC, plumbing, lighting and electrical systems and equipment and machinery such as generators, elevators, vacuum systems and vehicles. Additionally, this position is responsible for the exterior landscaping and grounds maintenance and overall facility appearance. The Director will supervise and coordinate the work of employees and contractors who repair and maintain building, facility, equipment and machinery. This position is also responsible for maximizing the efficiency, productivity, and customer service orientation of the department. Provide facilities oversight, including high level administrative services, to facilitate best deployment of department resources and excellent vendor performance.
