Ye old new year resolutions

As the new year starts we often have plans to improve ourselves our jobs or something. We desire to brush off the dust and re-energizer some aspect of our lives. And to be honest many of these plans are relatively good ideas. It could be that we were simply waiting for the motivation to get started or push forward once again. But then if all the motivation it took was a new year how long will this plan stay in place?

The new you mentality is nice but what was wrong with the old you? If you needed a cultural motivation to lose weight or start a new hobby or even write that book you have always wanted how long will your motivation last when the new weirs off and the work begins? There is a reason you weigh what you weigh and that book was never written. Now again if you truly desire to adjust something I am not against it I am simply asking if a new years motivation will be enough to see it through or should you look at the real reason you have not done it until now.

Are you truly willing to make the time to exercise? Are you willing to sacrifice the effort and time it takes to write? New hobbies take money and effort to start and learn. Is your motivation great enough to encourage you past these hurdles? If it is your desire to learn something new or advance your career I fully support you! I simply want you to fully support yourself with the recognition of what it will take so that when the work becomes work you are ready to push through. I want you to succeed.

Now some of you might be curious why me a total strange to most of you would care if you succeed. That is a very valid question and the answer is simple why would I want you to fail to accomplish something you desire? True, that is not an answer so let me try again. While failing is part of success failing because you were unprepared to put in the effort is simply a waist of your life and emotion. But if you fail after putting In the work and effort your chance to learn something that will help someone else and yourself succeed that is valuable and well worth the time and effort.

The more we encourage one another the greater the chance each of us will find more success. If my encouraging you enables you to have a better chance to succeed and you build up another then in time we have created a place and environment where success is not just possible but anticipated and failure is not a loss but an actual learning experience and an opportunity to to build.

But all of this fails if we forget that we actually need to root for each other, your success does not make me look alike a failure. Your success reminds me it can be done. Your ability to learn from failure provides me with lessons and motivation to stand up again and again. It is said that Edison was quoted as saying “I have not failed. I've just found 10,000 ways that won't work .” How we look at what we do is vastly important and how we treat each other is very much part of that.

So yes I want you to succeed in your plans even your new years plans, so be ready to put in the work and effort to succeed. Set aside time to plan a set of actions that will enable you to succeed. Improve your life and in so dong we have the chance to improve each others.
