When technology fails...
Have you ever thought to yourself; 'What would I ever do if I lost my cellphone, computer hard drive, laptop, iPad, iPod, thumb drives, or SD card'?
Our lives are backed up on every piece of technology out there such as cloud and google photos. We upload thousands of photos every few months. Either for work, pleasure, trips, births, weddings, family days, and more.
With all the activities in our daily lives, we rely on technology quite frequently. The error in that is, we are not thinking about what happens when and if technology might fail us.
Just recently I purchased a new cellphone, as I was adding my contacts from my old phone I noticed some of my contacts were missing from my phones internal memory. I just assumed the contacts would be on my external memory card (sdcard) after fighting with the slot to remove the card and put it into my new phone I noticed as soon as I restarted my new phone that my contacts were gone.
My Grandmother advised me all throughout my teen-hood to always write things down and keep it in folders. My Father was famous for telling me to make backups of backups of other backups. I thought he was backup crazy, but... I listened!
I reached into my case of files where I kept my address books and found the missing contacts. I also found a few other notes and pictures on thumbdrives I haven't looked at in years. Going down memory lane felt nice.
I have found that most people do not write anything down on paper anymore. They prefer to write on their phones notepad's, iPad's or on their desktop computer's.
Just remember when technology fails you, and it will... pick up that ancient caveman notebook and pencil, it might save you a lot of trouble.
