When It Rains…

I came to the conclusion that I should share the personal side of my life with friends here on beBee. I intend to do so about once a week.
Here goes.
I finally decided to put my house on the market. I like it and clients from halfway round the globe that have visited like it.
I have an office that will seat six and then there is Conference Room 2, the deck just on the other side of the French doors. It is, unfortunately, only available in summer.
But 4 bedrooms, two offices, two and half baths and all the other usual stuff means this single guy rattles around in the place like the last ball in a pinball machine.
Now I’m rattling around trying to improve curb appeal. That includes a new fence on one side, power washing of everything in sight outside as well as windows washed inside and out, new plantings and then there is the continuing saga of making it move-in ready.
New carpet is scheduled for the 29th and 30th. Upstairs bath tub to be re-caulked on the 31st. Trees to be trimmed away from the house on the 31st. Second office painting to be done on the 1st. Realtor house measurement and photos for listing on September 5.
Crashing Computers, Eclipse Dental Twinges and then…
I believe a I shared my problem of crashing computers a while back. Then came the toothache over the eclipse weekend (still unresolved as my dentist was watching the Sun/Moon get together and stayed in eastern Oregon for the rest of the week). I’ve yet to get an appointment!
This morning, the third shoe dropped. After an extended conversation with my mother’s eye doctor (she lives most of a continent away) I figured out I have to fly back there and be with her for cataract surgery.
Of course I still have my current clients to keep up with. Right now that includes:
· 1 new website
· 2 full Persona implementations
· 2 Ongoing Expert Video shoots & edits (scheduled by mid-September)
· 1 Initial session with returning client
· 1 Non-profit start-up
Why am I so calm?
The carpet installation got rescheduled by 2 days which opened up time to hack into the list above. A couple friends have called to say, “How can I help?” The dentist understands my travel times and is working to schedule removal of a bridge, tooth repair and a new bridge. And the Ambesol is working. The eye surgeon tells me the first possible date for Mom’s eye surgery is September 12.
Bring it on!
There are times when the only thing you can do is look at the Universe, shake a fist and say “Bring it On!”
For me, this is one of those times.
Stay tuned.
