Thanksgiving day is but a few days away, plans are being prepared and even some of the food. Cars are filling the roads driven by people concerned for many variables juggling to keep them all in order. The day of thanksgiving where we spend hours planning preparing family events surrounding one meal one moment in time where we gather to remember to be thankful.

We recall the history of our country that led to this day of celebration we recall the events in our own lives that have lifted our hearts or given us hope. Then even upon occasion we recall events that brought tears of pain or frustration that now serve as a lesson on growth and strength and these are added to our statements of thank.

One day set aside to recall and ponder the past not just to fill ourselves to overflowing with food. One day set aside to remember the good or the positive results. A day to look back and smile. This day this thanksgiving day is a day to pause and give thanks.

I know that for many this is a tough day a day filled with more pain than pleasure or a day that is lonely. To you today please hear this simple truth, you are loved. I understand that you might not feel this love, you might not even believe it but it is true. You are loved. I pray you find a warm place to enjoy a friend and a meal perhaps even a time of peace so that you will have a reason to give thanks.

Thanksgiving is a day that is intended to remind us to look for the good through out the year. Or perhaps that is what it has become to mean. But in truth it is a good day to remember the good and the positive that has transpired this last year.

So as you gather with friends or family or even both smile and enjoy your meal recall the good and even the positive results of the bad and give thanks. Build one another up as the lives we live often have a plethora of opportunities to beat us down. Then as the year progresses build a portfolio of reasons to give thanks next year. Add to your list of friends and smile.

Let this thanksgiving be the start of a very good next year. It's not all a matter of choice but choice plays a very important role in it.

May God fill your thanksgiving with true peace and contentedness.

Blessings
