I's Been a While

I's Been a WhileDear BOSS,

= rl

It’s been almost a month since I wrote anything to blog about. It’s been busy for me with getting used to the hours at my new job. They offered me a regular job working in the kitchens at the local football stadium. Someone kept saying they were like a family there. Last time I worked at a job where people said that there were lots of headaches. So I sent them an email saying I wasn’t interested in getting adopted and wouldn’t be taking the job.

I’m doing cleanup work in a dorm where they find low income housing right now. It doesn’t pay as much as I’d be making if I took the union job at the stadium but at least I don’t have to worry about someone acting like they’re my parents.

There is a lot going on in the news about women coming forward with stories about abuse. I can’t say I understand them or know what they’re talking about-but I have four daughters and a grand-daughter. I wouldn’t want them getting that kind of trouble when they’re just trying to do their jobs.

Maybe every woman needs to know a few crazy people so nobody bothers them like that.

There is another media circus about someone Trump wants get on the Supreme Court. He seems to have something to do with a lot of what the news is talking about. Sometimes I think the man ran for office just because he still wanted to be on TV after his show flopped. He seems to find a way to keep the media focused on him.

I wonder if he’s really running anything in DC-maybe DC Comics.

Poor Stan Lee; Trump might be after his job if his political career is a flop

Part two Unfortunately there is a very dangerous nasty man heading the current administration in the US and the latest news regarding Supreme Court Nominations is sobering at best. I do admire Sen. Patrick Leahy's speeches on this - I did post one this morning. I think fundamentally what marks administrations / companies / organisations like DT's is the simple fact is that some people are scared of what can be achieved if we all work together, respect each other etc. etc. as human beings irrespective of race, creed, colour, gender, sexual orientation etc. etc. I have made a point of not commenting much on the political situation in the States as I do not live there. Thanks for reminding me that most men are prepared to let us females get out our bows and arrows and pointy sticks etc. etc. and supply some hardware if required.

Great writing Mark Blevins - it is hard sometimes dealing with the insidious avuncular patronage I had to endure every day in the corporate world. I used to look at the man and realise that unfortunately as a woman I could not simply smile and say 'let's take this outside' and teach him what a woman can do with a decent size stick/rod - a mop or broom stick with the cleaning end removed - is great for this, vs a man... or even without the stick... So I (feeling threatened and realised that I would probably get fired or accused of making a pass, or not having a sense of humour if I expressed an opinion on what that individual had just said.) would walk the walk of shame, feeling that I was giving him tacit approval for his behaviour by walking away. Now of course I am not saying that this is ALL men who treat women like this, no the majourity of men I know and interact with - treat women with respect and listen to her views, and respect her thoughts and opinions regarding her professional role in any industry. Views expressed by the odd sick individual can not be applied to all men. The sick are in the minority. Part 2 to follow
