Under the direction of the Manager of Health Information, the Assistant HIM Manager will lead the staff daily operations to include release of information, scanning/indexing and chart analysis.

The Assistant HIM Manager will participate as a member of the HIM team to achieve organizational goals as well as serve as a subject matter expert for all HIM systems assigned.

The Assistant HIM Manager will consistently review and modify departmental policy and procedures to ensure compliance with HIPPA and healthcare regulatory guidelines.

The Assistant HIM Manager will maintain a strong working relationship with all Health System Leaders and team members, as well as all Health System partners and customers.

The Assistant Manager given the individual to train under the Manager for succession purposes.

Bachelor's degree in HIM (RHIA) or Associate degree in HIM (RHIT) required.
Three (3) years management experience working in an acute care HIM environment required.
RHIA or RHIT Required or currently in a Certified program to obtain credentials.
Must be professional and tactful in handling situations with department customers, employees and physicians.
Excellent interpersonal skills.
Demonstrates high level of personal and professional accountability and responsibility.
Self-directed and performs duties independently.
Ability to problem-solve and apply critical thinking skills.
Ability to communicate and coordinate daily work flow to ensure department needs.
Must be flexible, dependable, and demonstrate the ability to adapt to change.
