    MARKETING DIRECTOR

    Reporting directly to the chief marketing officer, you are a digitally savvy, data and insights driven marketeer who will coach and lead a diverse team of marketing managers and coordinators. This individual will work with editorial, sales and marketing to establish annual audience development goals and objectives for assigned properties based on total addressable market and MJH's service obtainable market (TAM / SOM). You will work with the data, email and marketing team to develop a strategic omnichannel marketing approach to grow audience database size, demographic makeup, and engagement. You will be immersed in all facets of marketing, communication, and recruitment, from publication subscriptions, website traffic (frequency and recency), eNewsletter (signup and engagement), and event attendance (online and onsite).

    Responsibilities:

    • Build and communicate with key stakeholders to create and maintain an audience profile that provides optimal market coverage

    • Build and manage annual audience development budgets and strategic marketing plans based on defined objectives for assigned brand properties

    • Lead a diverse team of marketers and oversee development of marketing plans that align with overarching strategic objectives, brand dynamics and audience insights

    • Drive the development of brand positioning, narratives, and content storytelling, including B2B campaign efforts

    • Manage the creation of all promotional marketing materials

    • Manage marketing budget for all staffing, resources, and capital purchases

    • Explore and initiate use of innovative tactics and approaches, such as competitive analysis, social intelligence, influencers, thought leadership, video, and audio to drive engagement

    • Be accountable for measuring, reporting and provide ROI on campaign results - and provide regular analyses and insight reports on marketing performance

    • Audience understanding and insight, including market segmentation, targeting, and positioning (STP methodology)

    • Create omni-channel campaigns that leverage organic/paid media channels, search engine marketing, PR and other vehicles

    • Leverage and maximize email channel - create journeys and email flows that drive engagement, foster email performance metric growth, and minimize email attrition

    • Develop 1:1 marketing journeys and personalized website UX strategies to drive deeper funnel engagement

    • Manage, motivate, and cultivate team

    • Identify areas for process improvement, i.e., workflows and collaboration with product/project management

    • Knowledge of marketing trends, developments, competition, and best practices

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor's degree in marketing required. MBA preferred
    • Minimum 5 years of relevant professional experience
    • Strong quantitative and analytical skills
    • Marketing Automation experience is a plus
    • Google Analytics 4 and ad measurement experience required
    • Great problem-solver who can derive insights from data and develop a strategic application
    • Experience working with data visualization tools ideal (e.g., Tableau, Data Studios, etc.)
