    SUMMARY


    CHC, a federal contracting engineering company which currently operates across the southern United States is seeking a Site Safety Health Officer for a salary position.

    SSHO Implements the CHC site safety program to ensure a safe, injury and incident-free work environment on assigned projects. This position will be for Broward County, FL and the Southern Florida region. Conduct safety orientation, supervise project safety, incident investigation, and ensure compliance with project USACE safety program standards.

    MUST HAVE ALL OF THE FOLLOWING CREDENTIALS:
    EDUCATION, CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS


    • Bachelor's Degree
    • Minimum 5 years construction or government project management experience, including 4 years management level safety profession experience.
    • Current Certificates
    • First Aid, CPR, AED & BBP Certification
    • OSHA 30-hour Construction Safety and Industry Standard
    • EM hr, plus familiarity with Marine Industry, highly desirable.
    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.

    Assists the project leaders by suggesting safe work practices as part of preplanning and training; establishes jobsite safety procedures.


    • Plans, implements, manages, and maintains comprehensive environmental safety and health programs on premises or at project site locations.
    • Provides project management team with guidance on health and safety.
    • Collaborates with management to update internal Emergency Action Plan, Accident Prevention Plan, and HSEMS.
    • Guarantees that all work is performed in accordance with approved manuals, internal policies and procedures, contract documents, and good engineering practices.
    • Provides technical support to project managers.
    • Reports the safety status of projects to the project managers.
    • Plans, implements, and conducts preventative care, safety, and compliance training programs.
    • Conducts safety meetings, audits, and inspections to ensure compliance, evaluate performance, identify corrective action, and implement follow up assessments.
    • Participates and leads team meetings and provides daily onsite project presence.
    • From time to time, accompany USACE consisting of safety, health and insurance inspections on tours of the project.
    • Maintains safety files and records (on project share point site - daily)

    SPECIFIC CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:

    • Travel to field projects will be required.
    • Fit for Duty
    • This position may require a rotating schedule.
    • Specific projects may require US Government security clearance.

    While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required use hands and fingers, to grasp, grip, handle, or feel.

    The employee is frequently required to stand for extended periods of time. The employee is required to talk and hear. The employee is required to stand, walk, use stairs, ladders, and step stools and reach with hands and arms. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up 50 pounds.

    Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
