- Loan Closings
- Acquire KYC Documentation for new Borrower relationships.
- Assess Term Letters for completeness and adherence to company policies.
- Supply attorneys with Key Terms of new loans and commence Legal Process.
- Manage preparation of loan documents with Lender Legal Counsel and review.
- Organize and review Tri-party Agreement with Borrower and Builder Partner.
- Support Legal Counsel and Deal Team with Due Diligence Checklist items.
- Analyze title documents and legal descriptions of property.
- Maintain electronic files in an orderly manner in Egnyte data storage folders.
- Address borrower queries and escalate any significant concerns.
- Generate Lender Closing Invoice, Review and Approve HUD Closing Statements.
- Facilitate communication and keep deal team, borrower, and private equity team informed on status during the closing process and closing timeline.
- Coordinate with Treasury group to fund initial loan proceeds at closing.
- Lot Sales and Loan Paydowns
- Create and deliver Partial Release Paydown Letters for planned lot Sales.
- Check HUD Settlement Statements for Lot Sales, Document Sale Transactions, and Loan Paydowns.
- Create and complete Partial Releases and furnish to title companies for filing upon receipt of paydown proceeds.
- Candidates should hold at least a bachelor's degree in paralegal studies or post-bachelor's degree paralegal certification; an emphasis on real estate lending is preferred.
- Candidates are required to have a minimum of 4-5 years of relevant experience.
- Candidates should demonstrate excellent teamwork and communication skills, and sincere, meticulous attention to detail.
- Candidates must be capable of thriving in a fast-paced setting, possess extensive knowledge of real estate loan documents, and exhibit exceptional organizational, time management, and multitasking abilities.

SUMMARY
Macdonald & Co., North Carolina, has partnered again with a lean and rapidly growing residential real estate finance and asset management company to appoint a Real Estate Paralegal & Closing Coordinator to their newly opened Charlotte office.
The firm is supported by relationships with several large private equity groups, and this position presents an opportunity for the candidate to quickly become a key part of a developing team in a dynamic work environment with interactions with clients, attorneys, and direct reporting lines to top senior leadership.
This individual will play a role in various aspects of the operations including loan closings, lot sales, partial releases, and loan payoffs.
RESPONSIBILITIES
To excel as a Real Estate Paralegal & Closing Coordinator, you should showcase strong knowledge of the firm's lending process, procedures, and possess prior experience in a similar capacity. Aid in and manage background checks, KYC documentation, support lawyers in preparing and reviewing loan documents, lien searches, title updates, and lien releases. An exceptional Real Estate Paralegal & Closing Coordinator will be someone whose expertise contributes to the efficient and accurate completion of transactions. Duties include:
