Summary Statement:
This is a full-time supervisory position with purview over the youth care staff.

It also includes the supervision, safety and security of our residents during the hours of 8:00am to 10:00pm on weekdays, yet may fluctuate based on the needs of our residents and program.

The position requires supervisory experience, administrative skills, leadership abilities and a commitment to follow rules and standard operating procedures without deviation.


Responsibilities:
This person is responsible for the supervision of the youth care staff. This person also works as an intermediate staff and therefore closely monitors the conduct of the residents.

This person also exerts control and provides guidance to both staff and for others to emulate, supporting the staff in all efforts affecting the care and welfare of the residents, as well as the efficient functioning of the facility.


His/her responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Coordinates with the Executive Director and Training Coordinator for matters pertaining to organizing, directing, evaluating, scheduling, training and communicating with the entire youth care staff.
  • Organizes, directs, evaluates, schedules, trains, and communicates with the entire youth care staff through shift reports, weekend reports and staff meetings as deemed appropriate.
  • Participates in the evaluating and interviewing of potential employees for youth care staff positions under the direction of the Executive Director.
  • Fills in when youth care staff members are late or absent in reporting to work and is on-call 24 hours a day for emergency situations.
  • Works in conjunction with the Executive Director and Clinical Director to allow smooth shift transitions.
  • Address all resident behavioral concerns that are documented through the use of the DARS, Inc. consequence system.
  • Schedules all community service projects and documents monthly hours assigned to each resident.
  • Serves as a liaison between DARS, Inc. department to ensure continuity, teamwork, and active communication between departments.

Qualifications:

Minimum of high school diploma or GED.

Have 3 year of direct experience working with juveniles in similar settings.

Have a valid PA driver's license.

Be drug free.

Be qualified for employment in accordance with PA Act 33, Child Protective Act, and FBI Criminal History Check.
