Process Optimization Engineer - Austin, United States - PayPal

    Default job background
    Description
    At PayPal (

    NASDAQ:
PYPL), we believe that every person has the right to participate fully in the global economy.

Our mission is to democratize financial services to ensure that everyone, regardless of background or economic standing, has access to affordable, convenient, and secure products and services to take control of their financial lives.

    Job Description Summary:

The Process Optimization Engineer will join the Global Revenue Operations team and support PayPal's continued growth and ongoing development of our Global Markets organization by leading efforts to reengineer business processes for acceleration, simplicity, and quality.

As a Process Optimization Engineer, you will be responsible for monitoring and ensuring the efficient performance of key global processes in the revenue lifecycle and for taking action when performance improvement opportunities arise.

Successful Process Optimization Engineers have extensive experience in Six Sigma process design and reengineering, a deep level of expertise in data analysis, and excellent business and financial acumen.

This role requires proven leadership skills and the ability to work collaboratively with stakeholders at all levels to identify and influence opportunities for improvement.

This is an environment with complex business issues, limited end to end process definition, and, at times, siloed ways of working.

The successful candidate will possess creative problem-solving skills, be a self-starter, and be comfortable navigating ambiguity.

Additionally, you will collaborate with process engineering peers, project managers, and process owners to establish a common revenue process governance framework and standards, best practices, and tools/resources necessary to standardize and scale process reengineering disciplines across global sales and servicing Revenue Operations teams.

    Job Description:
    Main Responsibilities

Define KPIs and implement measurement framework to understand the performance of assigned processes, using control charts to monitor performance and maintain performance within acceptable limits

Conduct fact-based analyses including data collection, data analyses, and synthesis of data to generate key insights for projects and to identify root causes when process performance exceeds control limits

Develop presentations for and recommend strategies to senior management to optimize business processes for achievement of primary metrics, including business cases with quantified financial benefits.

Once approved and in execution, facilitate discussions on project or program progress, results, and assistance needed from senior management.

Drive the implementation of process improvement initiatives across various departments within the organization

Establish and maintain process documentation, including process models, standard operating procedures, and work instructions

Provide training and support to team members on new processes and process improvements

Develop and maintain relationships with internal stakeholders to ensure process improvements align with business objectives

Drive continuous improvement initiatives to achieve operational excellence

Mentor Revenue Operations peers and leaders on Six Sigma and general process analysis and engineering best practices

    Target Skills/Experience

Bachelors degree in business, industrial engineering, or equivalent work experience

5+ years of experience in process improvement or business process engineering, with prior consulting experience preferred

Lean Six Sigma certification required, Black Belt or higher. 3+ years experience in managing Lean Six Sigma projects and driving results

Mastery of data analysis tools such as Excel, MiniTab, or similar software. Expert in data visualization techniques for clear presentation of results.

Experience working within a Sales organization and understanding of sales processes is required; knowledge of the platform helpful

Proven experience in leading cross-functional teams to implement process improvements with change management disciplines. Can lead teams without direct authority.

Strong analytical skills and the ability to solve complex problems

Excellent communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively across multiple departments and levels of stakeholders

Ability to effectively manage multiple projects simultaneously

Strong facilitation skills, including excellence in conducting workshops to gather data, drive consensus, or design solutions.

Instills confidence and demonstrates experience with influencing executive stakeholders

Highly motivated to take ownership and drive initiatives with minimal direction

Capacity to think strategically and innovatively and translate ideas into action plans.
