    Description


    AVA Energy are partnered with a leading Developer as they search for a Senior Transmission Planning Engineer to join their team in Austin, Texas.

    The successful candidate must be comfortable with an in-office presence in Austin – relocation assistance is provided if relocating.


    Main Responsibilities:


    Primarily responsible for evaluating market and site selection for the development of utility-scale Wind, Solar and Storage facilities across the United States.

    Oversee and present potential interconnection alternatives for various projects.
    Perform power flow analysis using power flow software such as PSS/E.
    Review and verify interconnection studies and analysis from transmission consultants and providers.
    Track transmission projects and overall transmission development within the various markets.
    Develop and maintain strong working knowledge of regional transmission systems and providers.


    Work Experience Requirements:
    Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering.
    At least 3 years of direct transmission planning experience, working for a Developer, Utility or Consultancy.
    Experience using power flow software such as PSS/E, PSLF, TARA and PowerWorld.
    Experience working in and managing interconnection processes in one or more ISO/RTO (NYISO, ISO-NE, MISO, SPP, ERCOT, CAISO, or WECC)
