The Lehigh County Office of Children & Youth Services (OCYS) has a mission to protect children from abuse and neglect and strengthen families.

Lehigh County currently has 2 open Clerk Typist 2 positions. Come join our team and help accomplish our goals.


DESCRIPTION OF WORK:


  • As a Clerk Typist 2 your duties will include answering telephones, taking and relaying messages, and updating the daily assignment schedule in support of the agency receptionist. Additionally, you will assist with sorting Agency incoming mail and distributing to units and individuals.
You will be responsible for providing clerical support to casework and supervisory staff to whom you are assigned, including but not limited to:


  • Preparing and processing Case File openings and for Court.
  • Programming, typing/scanning and mailing of Family Service Plans (FSPs).
  • Preparing and processing Case Files for transfers and closings.
  • Taking Child Line and referral calls.
  • Filing, faxing, photocopying, and scanning files.
  • Preparing labels return address, providers, and attorneys.
  • Typing routine letters appointment, case acknowledgments.
  • Mailing Court Orders.
  • One of these positions will he hired as the Agency's receptionist.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:


  • Fulltime employment.
  • Work hours are 8:00 am to 4:00 pm, Monday
  • Friday, with 30minute lunch.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY:


QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:


  • Six months as a Clerk Typist 1 and educational development to the level of eighth grade;
    or:
  • Completion of a high school business curriculum which included at least one typing course;
    or:
  • Any combination of equivalent experience and training.

Other Requirements:

  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.

Legal Requirements:


  • You must pass a background investigation.
  • This position falls under the provisions of the Child Protective Services Law.
  • Under the Law, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports including, but not limited to, PA State Police clearance, PA Child Abuse history clearance, and FBI Fingerprint clearance.
