Hiya I'm Naomi (they/she) and I'm a manager on the frontend team here at ReadMe.

We're looking for frontend engineers with an eye for detail to help us build the best documentation platform we can.

As a developer here, you'll work on solving problems you care about, while growing as an engineer in whatever direction you choose.

Our engineers are cross-functional—if you want to work a bit on a full stack project, do user research with the Design Team, or be part of the planning process for a new feature, go for it Engineers here love learning by doing, and since we're a project-based team, there's always a chance to learn something new with talented peers to help you along the way.

Most of all, our developers are allowed and encouraged to excel as engineers.

What you'll do here

We've got a unique blend of folks who enjoy diving deep in their niche knowledge areas and those who have fun working on a variety of topics over time.

The following is an example of what you might work on, though we always encourage engineers to follow their interests
Work closely with designers to understand and respond to user needs, and have fun making things beautiful

Work on our UI library building out components, from semantic markup to CSS styles

Architect the front end of our hub and dash applications to be intuitive, visually delightful, and performant.

Join one of our project pods and help the team ship features as part of our six-week sprints.

What's the hiring process like

We can't wait to read your resume and (hopefully personality-filled) cover letter Let us know what excites you about front end engineering, and help us get to know you better

If we think we might be a good fit for you, we'll set up a 30 minute phone chat with Naomi Day, our Front End Manager They'll tell you more about the role, and get a chance to hear about your experiences.

Next will be a second 30 minute phone interview with our Head of Engineering Rafe Goldberg, where we'll dive a bit more into your background.

Then we'll invite you to an "onsite" interview conducted over Zoom These usually take 3.5 to 5 hours including an hour break in between.

We are able to be flexible with the schedule and split it up over two days if that works best for you We start with a 15-minute get-to-know-you with the Engineering Team so you can meet the people you'll be working with, and then have you talk with people one-on-one later on.

We'll let you know how things went within a week If it still seems like a good fit all around, we'll extend you an offer If not, we will update you to let you know so you aren't left hanging.
