    Job Description

    Company Overview:

    • Our client is a leading producer of renewable natural gas (RNG) in the United States.

    Position Title: Senior Counsel, Commercial

    Responsibilities:

    • Draft, review, and negotiate various contracts crucial to the company's operations, including project development agreements, gas rights, pipeline agreements, interconnect agreements, and project site leases.
    • Ensure meticulous compliance with legal, contractual, and risk management policies to minimize corporate liability and optimize the value of contracts.
    • Provide practical legal advice to internal project management and execution teams on contract compliance, project notices, and regulatory adherence.
    • Coordinates filings and other compliance activities required by the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC), and other state and federal regulatory agencies, as applicable.

    Qualifications:

    • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
    • Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience as a corporate attorney.
    • Exceptional relationship-building skills to collaborate effectively with internal colleagues, external legal advisors, and business clients.
    • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple complex assignments simultaneously while meeting tight deadlines.
    • Strong decision-making and problem-solving abilities, with demonstrated maturity and sound judgment.
    • Superior written and verbal communication skills, with acute attention to detail.
    • Proficiency in distilling complex legal concepts into practical advice.
    • Experience working in house preferably in Renewables

    Location:

    • The position is based in Houston, 3 days in the office 2 WFH
