- Has the ability to perform all functions of supervised positions.
- Supervises, trains and manages the work of benefits staff.
- Provides administrative service and information to employees and benefit program administrators regarding group life, health/dental benefits, and pension plan.
- Coordinates employee enrollment into benefit and pension plans within the time limits; facilitates annual open enrollment.
- Collects, compiles, and analyzes information and data to verify the accuracy in calculation of the monthly premium statements for all group insurance policies.
- Maintains statistical data pertaining to premiums, claims, and cost.
- Resolves administrative problems by working closely with the carrier representative and accounting department.
- Maintains computer filing maintenance system including files of benefits history, data, correspondence, reports, and forms.
- Coordinates and/or conducts sessions with individual and group training programs.
- Is responsible for medical billing and statements.
- Monitors leaves of absence and tracks for benefits compliance.
- Assists in filing IRS 1095 for ACA reporting.
- Acts as a contact person for all benefit programs.
- Maintains knowledge of all events in the property as a whole.
- Attends and/or facilitates all mandatory meetings and training.
- Maintains confidentiality at all times.
- Is sensitive to Native American Culture.
- Operates within the parameters of the Leech Lake Gaming Human Resource Policy, Departmental Policy Manual and all Tribal Internal Controls (TICs), and all other applicable regulations.
- Secures the assets of Leech Lake Gaming and the Leech Lake Band of Ojibwe.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Must have extensive record keeping skills and be detail oriented.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to travel from site-to-site and state-to-state.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
Education Required: Associate's Degree (two-year college or university)
Education Preferred: Bachelor's Degree
Experience: Three or more years' experience in insurance administration or related field.
A combination of education and experience may be considered as a substitute for degree requirement.
Computer Skills: Must have a strong computer background and knowledge of office equipment.
Certificates & Licenses: Must meet Tribal/State compact licensing requirements, pass a criminal background check, and submit to drug testing.
