Project Management for Flood Risk Management - Temporary (m/f/d)

We, the Target Setting & Strategies team, develop strategic and conceptual guidelines for works and networks in the wastewater management unit (strategies, site development concepts, drainage concepts) and take on asset and order management as well as controlling.

What you will be doing with us:

  • Management of the project "Creation of Flood Hazard Maps"
  • Creation of flood hazard maps for all catchment areas in Berlin
  • Development of concepts for flood prevention in pilot areas for the responsibility of the Berlin Waterworks
  • Development and coordination with SenUMVK of necessary performance specifications
  • Identification of focal points of canalinduced flooding during different annual events and risk assessment
  • Ensuring digital transmission of project results
  • Negotiation and development of service agreements and data usage agreements with the Senate Department for Urban Development and the Environment (Senatsverwaltung UMVK)

What you bring with you:


  • Master's degree in Process Engineering, Water and Civil Engineering, Water Management, Industrial Engineering or Environmental Engineering with indepth knowledge in relevant tasks
  • Alternatively: Bachelor's degree in the abovementioned fields with indepth knowledge in relevant tasks
  • Knowledge of public drainage network facilities
  • Indepth knowledge of the application of geographic information systems
  • Indepth knowledge of functionspecific specialized software
  • Knowledge of creating flood hazard maps using coupled 1D channel network/2
