We are a non-profit organization that provides quality learning opportunities to individuals with pervasive developmental disorders such as autism, and several other developmental and learning disabilities, in a safe environment, and offers services and resources to their families.
We are looking to hire a Jr. Staff Accountant with an ambitious and positive personality to join our team.
The Jr. Staff Accountant reports to the Business Manager.
Position Summary: The ideal candidate must be able to multi-task, be mission-and results-driven and be able to execute responsibilities in a non-profit environment. This individual should exercise good judgment, possess strong written and verbal communication skills, administrative, organizational and time management skills. The Jr. Staff Accountant should be able to work independently and practice discretion when handling confidential information. This individual will be responsible for working closely with payroll to monitor and maintain timesheet records. The accountant will also be working closely with Accounts Payable to complete the AP cycle.
Essential Functions:
· Enter and submit all purchase orders for approval, process supplier invoices, prepare supplier payments, accurately code invoices, upload all necessary documents into our database timely and efficiently, maintain compliance with processes and procedures.
· Assist with monthly closing process, maintaining schedules and posting journal entries as needed
· Responsible for maintaining school employee timesheet records.
· Acts as a liaison, where necessary, between employees and the business office to address payroll and AP issues.
· Assist in the year-end audit & interact with external auditors
· Special projects as needed. Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
· Limited travel between work locations
Qualifications:
Skills & Qualifications
· 2-3 years of accounting experience, preferably non-profit
· Bachelor's degree in Accounting (Required)
· Ability to manage time, prioritize, and meet deadlines
· Ability to work independently, possess excellent interpersonal skills and demonstrate an ability to communicate with all levels and diverse groups effectively and professionally both within and outside the agency
· Ability to work effectively in a team environment
· Must possess the ability to maintain confidentiality regarding all agency information, both internal and external
· Strong attention to detail and accuracy with problem solving skills
· Strong aptitude with the MS Office, Advance Knowledge in MS Excel (Required)
· Experience with Kintone or similar purchase order software (Preferred)
· Experience with Paycom or similar payroll system (Preferred)
· Experience using Accounting Software, willing to learn new software programs as required.
