***: Supports the delivery of quality legal services to clients by providing effective Accounting functions to the firm while also working collaboratively and cooperatively with others in a team-oriented environment.


PRINCIPAL DUTIES:


  • Handle AP as it relates to the firm expenses
  • Process client and trust deposits on a daily basis
  • Manage journal entries as they relate to cleared check or wires into/out of accounts
  • Enter vendor bills for payment
  • Manage credit card payments and reconciliation
  • Make sure the JACS / Superior Court accounts are funded
  • Process check requests in general ledger system
  • Handle questions from staff and vendors
  • Remit Sales Use tax on Quarterly basis
  • Process annual 1099 filings each year
  • Balance petty cash account
  • Process all MERP, FSA payments, and employee expense reimbursements
  • Monthly bank reconciliations
  • Other roles and responsibilities as needed

QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:


  • High School Diploma, College a plus.
  • 13 years' experience in Bookkeeping, Accounts Payable ore related field. preferably for a law firm,

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

Excellent written and verbal communication skills


TECHNICAL SKILLS:


  • Knowledge of software management system for handling legal files
  • General knowledge of accounting software packages
  • Tech savvy knowledge of internet and operating systems
  • Proficient use of PC with thorough knowledge of Microsoft Office.
  • Advancelevel of use on Outlook and Word
  • Understanding of office equipment, i.e. copiers, scanners
