- Drive and actively contribute to full life-cycle technical development of physics-based simulation models to aid both the Training Simulator and GNC projects
- Collaborate with team leads to manage scope, schedule, and budget
- Support multi-functional systems analyses to drive architectural decisions
- Mentor members of the team as a source of wisdom, guidance, motivation, and support
- Advanced degree in an Engineering related field
- 7+ proven years in physics-based simulation modeling
- Expertise with MATLAB, Simulink, and autocode generation and verification
- Familiar with programming languages such as C++ and Python
- Excellent technical writing and verbal communication skills
- Curiosity and drive to learn about a variety of different subjects to support our broad modeling scope
- Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and strengthen our culture of inclusion
- Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.
- Proven knowledge in designing, modeling, testing, and flying aerospace GNC systems
- Knowledge of multi-body dynamics, flexible body dynamics, gas dynamics, fluids, actuated systems, thermodynamics, and/or fluid slosh
- Experience using Gitlab and continuous integration tools
- Experience designing and evaluating Monte Carlo simulations, hardware-in-the-loop, and software-in-the-loop testing
- Experience supporting flight testing or launch operations
- Experience with project planning tools (JIRA, Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, etc.)

This role is part of the New Shepard program. New Shepard is a reusable suborbital rocket system designed to take astronauts and research payloads past the Karman line - the internationally recognized boundary of space. Through operational reusability, New Shepard supports our mission of lowering the cost of access to space.
As part of a hardworking team of diverse engineers, you will support both the New Shepard Training Simulator and the Guidance Navigation and Control (GNC) team in the following areas:

Benefits
Benefits include: Medical, dental, vision, basic and supplemental life insurance, paid parental leave, short and long-term disability, 401(k) with a company match of up to 5%, and an Education Support Program.
Paid Time Off: Up to four (4) weeks per year based on weekly scheduled hours, and up to 14 company-paid holidays.
Discretionary bonus: Bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results.
