Job Description and Duties

This position offers incentive compensation with a maximum opportunity of 50% of base salary.

Private Equity operates in a dynamic, team-focused environment. The candidate will collaborate with top-tier partners to contribute to a leading private equity program. Responsibilities include transaction execution, portfolio monitoring, performance measurement, and strategic development for the co-investment program.

Transaction Management & Portfolio Oversight: Conduct due diligence on co-investments and other transaction types. Evaluate financial performance, risks, and market attractiveness. Source investment opportunities from private asset managers.
Performance Measurement: Analyze and review program-wide performance. Monitor portfolio risk and benchmark performance against policy standards.
Program Strategy: Aid in developing a comprehensive strategy for the co-investment program to optimize portfolio structure and meet return objectives.

An incumbent with professional certifications like CFA, CCIM, FRM, CIMA, or CAIA may receive a 5% base pay differential.

Relocation benefits may be available.

Working Conditions

All CalSTRS staff are employees of the State of California and subject to California employment regulations. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.

Work Location: Hybrid role with two days in San Francisco and one day at CalSTRS Headquarters in West Sacramento, with travel expenses reimbursed.

The San Francisco office is located at 44 Montgomery Street in the Financial District, easily accessible by public transportation.
