    Description
    Civil Project Engineer at Lea & Braze Engineering
    Project Engineer role is intended for experienced designers who can independently take the lead in designing, coordinating and performing project management duties (e.g. scheduling and coordinating project deliverables) for assigned projects with minimal assistance from the Project Manager. Project Engineer is responsible for collaborating with Project Manager/Senior Project Manager in conducting project management administration duties (e.g. billing/invoices and budget tracking) for certain projects as determined by manager.
    Qualifications

    7+ years of experience (or 3+ years experience as a Project Engineer) in site development and design of various projects (e.g.

    Residential, Commercial, Mixed-used projects, Public and Private Entities, projects subject to DSA approval)
    Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with major coursework in civil engineering
    California Professional Engineering (PE) License is required
    Proficiency in using advanced Civil 3D/AutoCAD design tools such as corridors, pipe networks, etc. is encouraged
    Proficiency in using various engineering software (e.g. HydroCAD, WaterCAD, AutoTurn)
    Ability to effectively communicate with co-consultants and governing municipalities / agencies to seek required approvals
    Experience in general and complex civil engineering design topics
    Knowledge of civil engineering topics including hydraulic/hydrology, storm water quality, geometric layout, geotechnical and structural analysis
    Knowledge of general state and local government agency requirements
    Strong problem-solving, communication, and listening skills
    Ability to multi-task and thrive in a fast-paced team environment
    Committed dedication to ethical codes of practice
    Responsibilities
    Lead Project Engineer of various sized civil engineering projects
    Perform, manage, and/or coordinate design aspects of various assigned projects from planning to construction phase
    Work with Project Manager I/II to determine scheduling of project deliverables
    Work with Project Manager and/or Senior Project Manager in conducting managerial duties for the team's projects, as needed and indicated by project manager
    Assist with preparing billing invoices
    Track budgets and help determine addendum or add service approval is required
    Collaborate with Project Manager on preparing proposal addenda or additional services requests and provide input on scope and cost
    Determine project status and schedule project deliverables (for assigned projects) to keep clients / project consultants informed with Project Manger's I/II input and guidance
    Work with Project Managers I/II and, or Senior Design Engineer in training and mentoring team members
    Lead coordination with consultants (project architect, geotechnical engineer, structural engineer, arborist, surveyor and/or contractor) for various design aspects of projects
    Review co-consultant reports, plans and /or recommendations and effectively implement into project design and documentation
    Review and respond to Contractor RFI's and Material submittals
    Review (QC/QA) plans with supporting documents for preliminary, permit and construction phases for assigned projects
    Take on full design responsibility for various Site Development plans (e.g. Grading and Drainage Plans, On Site and Street
    Improvement plans, Storm Water Quality Plans, Utility Plans, Parking Lot layout, Tentative Maps, Feasibility Exhibits, etc.) for land development projects to company or specified standards
    Prepare reports and supporting documents including hydrology reports, feasibility studies, engineers cost estimates, required presentation material (e.g. documents, exhibits) for governing agency hearing, etc.
