    Duties and Responsibilities

    • Event Coordination: Plan, organize, and execute a wide range of events including corporate meetings, weddings, conferences, and community gatherings, ensuring seamless execution from conception to completion.
    • Venue Management: Oversee the setup, breakdown, and logistics of event spaces within POST Houston, ensuring all areas are prepared according to client specifications and safety standards.
    • Client Communication: Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, vendors, and internal teams, providing exceptional customer service and promptly addressing inquiries, concerns, and special requests.
    • Budget Management: Develop and manage event budgets, including cost estimation, expense tracking, and negotiation with vendors to ensure events are executed within financial constraints.
    • Team Leadership: Supervise event staff and volunteers, delegate tasks, provide guidance, and foster a collaborative and positive work environment to ensure successful event execution.
    • Vendor Coordination: Identify, contract, and manage relationships with external vendors, including caterers, florists, AV technicians, and security personnel, to fulfill event requirements and enhance the overall guest experience.
    • Event Marketing: Collaborate with the marketing team to promote events through various channels, including social media, email marketing, and promotional materials, to attract attendees and maximize event participation.
    • Risk Management: Identify potential risks and develop contingency plans to mitigate unforeseen challenges during events, ensuring the safety and security of guests, staff, and property at all times.
    • Post-Event Evaluation: Conduct post-event evaluations to assess the success of each event, gather feedback from clients and attendees, and identify areas for improvement to enhance future event experiences.
    • Stay Updated: Keep abreast of industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies in event planning and management, continuously seeking opportunities to innovate and elevate the quality of events hosted at POST Houston.

    Education and Work Requirements

    Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, hospitality management, or a related field. Candidates without a bachelors degree with qualifying experience in hospitality or events management are encouraged to apply.

    Minimum of 2 years of experience in marketing and events management.

    Strong written and verbal communication skills with a proven track record of communicating with high end clients.

    The ability to independently lift and carry heavy objects, up to 100 pounds, on a frequent basis is required.

    Proficiency in social media platforms and active participation in social media networks.

    Knowledge of Event Temple, Social Tables, and Eventbrite.

    Proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud programs (especially Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign) desired.

    Schedule: This is a full-time position that may require flexible availability, including early mornings, late nights, and weekends, based on the events schedule.

    Job Type: Full-time

    Weekend Availability: Required

    Ability to commute/relocate: Must be able to reliably commute to Houston, TX 77201, or plan to relocate before starting work.
