Overview:

The Human Resource Manager:
Responsible for the effective development, coordination and implementation of all human resource programs for the organization.

Provides leadership in the development and administration of Human Resources that support the organization's values and culture while achieving its goals.

Ensures that LiveOnNY is in compliance with all applicable laws and regulations. Develops programs to ensure equity among staff and to continually improve morale and communication within the organization. Supervises and provides direction to department staff. Supports and fosters the mission of the organization and its commitment to eye, organ and tissue donation through education.


Responsibilities:

Assures compliance with all federal and state laws, including EEO and affirmative action. Oversees OSHA compliance and COBRA program.

Oversees recruitment, interviewing and hiring, develops appropriate testing and screening methodologies, and performs screening interviews.

Collaborates with Education and Training to ensure new hire orientation meets New York State and Federal guidelines and reflects job requirements.

Develops personnel policy and procedures and assures that all staff receive updates. Assures that personnel policies are reviewed periodically or as needed. Ensures that all staff are equitably treated in accordance with policies.

Provides guidance to management in actions involving employee grievances, discipline and employee issues. Oversees training for Management regarding human resource issues. Assures that managers are informed and knowledgeable of legal compliance issues

Oversees all employer/employee relations. Tracks turnover and retention. Conducts exit interviews as warranted.

Evaluates and participates in the selection of benefits programs. Conducts a comprehensive benefits, policies and procedures orientation for all staff, providing them with current forms and literature.


Maintains all health records, personnel records and files, including current copies of professional licenses and other necessary documentation for each employee.

Assures that performance appraisals are performed consistently and timely.


Participates in conducting salary surveys and developing compensation packages and reward and recognition programs assuring that benefits meet the needs of employees and the organization's pay philosophy.

Participates in decisions involving salary reviews, increases and bonuses to assure the organization's ability to attract, retain and motivate qualified employees.


Authority to hire and fire employees and recommend for advancement or promotion while using independent judgment and discretion in significant matters of company policy.

Qualifications:

QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:


Required:

Bachelor's degree and a minimum of five years progressive Human Resources Generalist experience. Good management and interpersonal skills. Computer literate (e.g., Microsoft Office, SharePoint). Ability to maintain confidential nature of work. Excellent oral and written communication skills.


Preferred:

Master's degree preferred with previous supervisory experience.


ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:


LANGUAGE SKILLS:

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common journals and documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from clients, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Ability to write simple communications and documents. Ability to effectively present information to co-workers, the general public, and management.


MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:


REASONING ABILITY:

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.


OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

**Salary Range: $93,316-$139,974
