Description
Overview:
Develops and coordinates community relations activities for specified agency-based campaigns. Sets goals and develops public affairs plans with key stakeholders, advocacy groups, affiliated professional organizations, influencers, etc. to increase awareness and education about organ and tissue donation and transplantation within the LiveOnNY service area.
Expected to maintain community and government affairs awareness within designated geographies, communities or demographics to identify potential opportunities and/or partnerships in to enhance organ and tissue donation awareness.
Programs are developed with particular attention to ethnic and cultural equity. Supports and fosters the mission, vision and core values of LiveOnNY and its commitment to organ and tissue donation.This role requires fluency in Cantonese and/or Mandarin.
Responsibilities:
Bilingual Community & Government Affairs Liaison (Chinese/Cantonese/Mandarin)
Responsibilities:
Analyzes studies, articles and data, as well as collaborates with appropriate staff members to identify concerns and barriers to donation.
Identifies, cultivates, and maintains positive working relationships with key individuals to actively support LiveOnNY's efforts to educate and engage the public about donation.
Develops and implements plans for providing educational vehicles related to organ, eye and tissue donation for diverse ethnic and racial communities via sororities, fraternities, community-based organizations, civic groups and professional associations.
Organizes and develops presentations and informational packages. Seeks out speaking engagements and participation in relevant forums, such as exhibits, health fairs, conferences and seminars, classes.
Assists in the development of goals, standardized objectives and outlines, methods of delivery, and appropriate education materials for education programs offered.
Effectively collaborate with Community & Government Affairs department, as well as, all appropriate LiveOnNY staff to ensure appropriate delivery of all educational and outreach services and provides back-up as required to assure delivery of all scheduled programs, including those occurring outside of normal work hours.

Qualifications:

Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in political science, public relations, communications, healthcare administration, public health or a related field.
Three to five years' experience in developing and implementing effective grassroots strategies and educational campaigns.
Master's degree preferred.
Ability to research information, draw conclusions, and make recommendations. Computer literacy (i.e. Word Processing, Excel, and PowerPoint) required. Good interpersonal skills.
Language Requirement:
Fluency in Cantonese and/or Mandarin is required.
Ability to read and comprehend instructions and correspondence. Ability to write and edit
correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one on one and small group
situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
