About This Role:

Assisting with, planning, and conducting library programs for children and young adults.
Training, scheduling, and assigning tasks and opportunities for teen volunteers and interns.
Assisting patrons of all ages with information and circulation inquiries.
Providing Reader's Advisory and technology assistance.
Creating displays and promotional materials in support of the branch's Youth Services Programming.
Representing Prince William Public Libraries at outreach events.
Maintaining the library's physical collection of Children's and Young Adult items.

Minimum Requirements:Master's degree in library or information science.

Preferences:

Experience creating successful tween and teen programs.
Experience providing programs to children and presenting story times.
Experience assisting patrons with computers, printers, copies, scanners, tablets, and ereaders.
Experience with customer service skills to aid diverse populations.

Special Requirements:The position may require travel to other branches within the system. A DMV check will be conducted for employees who drive while on County business.

Work Schedule:

This is a full-time, exempt 37.5 hours per week position. Montclair Library is open Monday through Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. and Thursday through Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The schedule includes days, one evening per week, and alternating Saturdays as assigned. Scheduling flexibility is imperative. Schedule may vary depending on the needs of the library.

Starting Salary Range:

$64,311 - $90,650
