Lead Custodian - Temporary Assignment (NYU)
Job Summary:
EMCOR Government Services has an immediate need for a Lead Custodian at New York University in NW, Washington DC, for a Temporary Assignment lasting approximately 4 months and potentially converting to permanent.
The hours are Monday through Friday from 8:30am - 5pm.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Duty Schedule:
M-F 8:30am-5:00pm Assists the Chief Engineer in maintaining custodial staff schedule and ordering departmental supplies.
Keeps building and property in clean and orderly condition.
Schedules, directs work, and trains EMCOR custodial staff, as needed.
Completes all duties listed on the daily schedule and maintains daily upkeep of assigned areas and equipment.
Performs routine maintenance activities.
Performs heavy cleaning duties.
Sweeps, mops, scrubs, or vacuums floorsGathers and empties trash.
Scrubs, sanitizes, and supplies restroom facilities.
Dusts furniture, walls, and equipmentCleans windows, mirrors, and partitions with soap and other cleansers.
Follows procedures for the use of chemical cleaners and power machinery to prevent damage to floors and fixtures.
Cleans and polishes fixtures and furniture.
Shampoos or steam-cleans carpets and rugsManages inventory of cleaning suppliesQualifications: High school diploma or equivalentTwo (2) or more years' experience in housekeeping on Commercial-Industrial building equipment.
Experience and knowledge of cleaning methods and equipment.Ability to read and interpret instructions, procedures, manuals, and other documents in English.
Must be able to work a schedule of Monday
Work in conditions that will create dirt and dust.
