Description

We seek an Information System Security Officer for a long-term contract role in Austin, TX.

Information System Security Officer, hereafter referred to as Worker, who meets the general qualification of Security Analyst and the specifications outlined in this document for the client {Lead or Manager name, must be FTE}.

Work involves planning, implementing, and monitoring security measures using the NIST Risk Management Framework and Texas security frameworks for information systems and infrastructures. Works under limited supervision, with latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment.

DUTIES -

Assist with the implementation and management of the Secure System Development Lifecycle (SDLC) processes

Coordinates the implementation of system security plans with agency personnel and outside vendors.

Confers with users to discuss issues such as account permission and data access needs, security violations, and programming changes.

Advises management and users regarding security configurations and procedures.

Develop and recommend plans to safeguard information systems from accidental or unauthorized modification, destruction, or disclosure and to meet

emergency data processing needs.

Participates in developing information technology disaster recovery and business continuity planning.

Performs and reviews technical risk assessments and reviews of new and existing applications and systems, including data center physical security and

environment.

Researches, evaluates and recommends systems and procedures for preventing, detecting, containing, and correcting data security breaches.

Performs related work as assigned.

Minimum (Required):

8+ Knowledge of common information security management frameworks such as the NIST Risk Management Framework,

NIST Cybersecurity Framework and Texas Information Security Standards

8+ working in security as an ISSO or equivalent

Preferred (Optional):

4 Experience working with critical timelines.

4 Experience bridging the technology gap for owners and custodians

4 Excellent written and verbal communication. Fluent in the English language.

4 Experience conducting and documenting risk assessments and associated reports and

supporting documentation

4-year degree + 2 years experience and experience can replace degree Certification optional but preferred
