Job Summary and Qualifications:


As the Sheriff Security Officer, you will work alongside the Security Director, Security Manager and Security Supervisor, and law enforcement liaison.

You will be responsible for providing security for patients, employees and visitors.

As a currently licensed public law enforcement officer in this position, you will be able to assume the role and responsibilities of your public post in the event of a national or local emergency.


  • You will be responsible for protecting hospital buildings, assets and patrolling interior and exterior premises as assigned
  • You will assist in intervening in physical confrontations with violent persons
  • You will report all safety and/or fire hazards or security violations.
  • You will participate in investigations, maintain records and prepare incident reports
  • You will respond to scenes and provide necessary controls involving disasters, fires, alarms, codes, or emergency incidents and their associated drills
  • You will perform duties and services in accordance with the standards established by the Hospital, Federal, State, and local standards
  • Facilitates communication between the Security Department and other hospital departments to enhance services
Experience

  • 1 year of experience as a security/law enforcement position in a healthcare environment or a military medical field preferred
Education

  • Have met the certification standards set forth by Williamson County Sheriff's Office and state requirements as it pertains to the use of authorized equipment
  • Must maintain Texas Commission on Law Enforcement (TCLEOSE) requirements of a minimum of 40 hours of continuing education every 24 months
Licenses and Certifications

  • Current Basic Texas Peace Officer certification from Texas Commission on Law Enforcement (TCLEOSE)
  • Current valid Driver's License for the State of Texas
