- Own the month-end close process with a focus on balance sheet integrity, reviewing/approving/posting assigned manual journal entries and batches
- Coordinate the month-end close by maintaining the close checklist and ensuring the timely completion of required tasks by team members
- Manage Blackline account reconciliation tool, including assigning accounts to be reconciled, tracking monthly reconciliation progress, ensuring timely closure of open items, highlighting potential risks and non-compliance, and approving assigned accounts
- Prepare and communicate monthly reporting KPIs to senior management
- Supervise accounting personnel to meet the needs of the organization including but not limited to, setting performance guidelines, ensuring accountability, and setting up backups to minimize interruptions and delays
- Identify and develop staff on technical and soft skills, establish appropriate cross-training, and execute coaching plans
- Analyze financial statements and GL details with research and guidance on accounting issues
- Prepare corporate deliverables such as cash flows and variance analysis quarterly, manage the completion of tax package annually
- Coordinate and assist with a high level of customer service on all interim and year-end financial audits.
- Own the SOX compliance by maintaining a matrix tracker and ensuring control owners are completing and signing off on assigned controls; perform periodic audits to confirm compliance
- Manage the interactions with internal and external auditors to ensure timely submission of data and successful audit results and compliance
- Manage 3rd party tax provider and corporate tax relationships by ensuring timely submission of data and other deliverables to facilitate tax return filings/reporting and tax payments
- Review high-value invoices as part of payment controls
- Other ad-hoc responsibilities as requested by management
- CPA and/or master's degree
- Experience with JD Edwards
- Accounting experience within the Manufacturing Industry
- 8+ years of advanced G/L and consolidations experience
- 5+ years in People Leadership/Managerial role
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance or Business
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
- Flexible to work under tight timelines and extended hours such as monthly Accounting close by WD3 and Key Reconciliations by WD10
- Have demonstrated business acumen with a proven ability to identify trends, and opportunities and make recommendations for improvement
- High understanding of control framework and processes
- Strong analytical skills including an inquisitive approach to tackling projects
- Solid ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities

Job Summary:CSW Industrials, a rapidly growing industrial products, and specialty chemicals manufacturer, is seeking a Controller for its RectorSeal LLC business in Houston. This position requires a candidate willing to roll up their sleeves to tackle a range of financial activities from day-to-day accounting to high-level strategic business decisions. This is a highly visible role that involves daily interaction with executives at parent and subsidiary companies, both domestic and international. This role will require acute attention to detail, sensitivity to meeting deadlines, advanced critical thinking skills, and a commitment to process improvement. The weekly work schedule requires an office presence Monday through Friday.

Objective and scope:
RectorSeal is s seeking a Controller who wants to make their mark on a growing organization. The successful candidate should be a self-starter, an excellent communicator, and enjoy collaborating with people with a diverse set of talents, in an ambitious, fast-paced environment. This role reports to the Director of Accounting & Controls. This People Manager will lead a team of approximately 3-4 Accountants and perform general accounting activities for CSW Industrials' Contractor Solutions segment, with domestic and international operations.This self-starter will have an entrepreneurial spirit and be highly motivated to aid in molding and shaping the accounting team.
Responsibilities and duties:
Office: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to an office environment. Occasionally, the employee will be exposed to a warehouse environment and will be required to wear appropriate PPE. The employee must be able to occasionally lift and or move up to 25 lbs. This position requires computer use. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, distance vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

RectorSeal has an effective process for assessing market data and establishing ranges to ensure we remain competitive. You are paid within the salary range based on your experience and market position.
Employees may be eligible for pay incentives based on overall corporate and individual performance or at the discretion of the CSWI Board of Directors.
