Description
The Controls Engineer will be responsible for creating, enhancing, and resolving issues with the onsite control systems at the chemical plant. This includes conducting quality assurance to ensure smooth daily operations and efficient chemical manufacturing processes. Additionally, they will manage corrective maintenance requirements while optimizing maintenance planning.
Resonsibilities include;
Conduct quality assurance checks on existing chemical manufacturing procedures within the facility. Manage the distributed control system (DCS) and safety mechanisms on-site, troubleshooting any issues to minimize risk. Monitor and address DCS alerts, offering solutions to rectify problems promptly.
Collaborate with diverse teams to pinpoint areas requiring process control refinement. Assess the effectiveness of manufacturing technologies and tools, suggesting and implementing enhancements where necessary.
Lead process control advancements alongside management, staying informed about the latest developments in the field. Recommend appropriate software solutions and automate chemical manufacturing processes to enhance overall plant performance.
Ensure process control operations remain within budgetary constraints while upholding standards of quality, reliability, and efficiency. Serve as a knowledgeable point of contact for instrumentation and controls, ensuring adherence to industry regulations and safety protocols. Document procedures and compile progress reports accordingly.
Adhere to environmental, health, and safety guidelines, including process safety management (PSM), to maintain best practices across all operations.
