Job PurposeA person in this position will lead the engineering team consists of engineering team. Engineering team provides process, maintenance, and engineering support to specialty chemical manufacturing plants.
Job Responsibilities
Provide guidance and supervision to engineering team to ensure all the different sections within the department are functioning smoothly.
Leading engineering projects to develop products and processes as well as improvements.
Responsible for tech transfer and scale-up of new products.
Lead the team to identify and implement the projects to improve safety, quality, and productivity.
Manage CAPEX projects to complete on schedule and within budget.
Implement and maintain engineering standard strategy, policies, and procedures to improve business performance.
Ensure that Environmental, Health and Safety, engineering, and quality standards and procedures are adhered to at all times.
Identify potential areas towards increasing company profits through suitable plant maintenance practices, modifications, debottlenecking, improved and more efficient work methods.
Ensures that all maintenance work, whether by plant personnel or contractors, is conducted in a timely manner and consistent with in-house safety and maintenance programs.
Ensure all maintenance contracts are negotiated and executed in compliance with company policies.
Requirements & Qualifications
Educational Background:
Diploma or Degree in an engineering discipline.
Experience:
8 to 10 years of experience in a chemical manufacturing environment. At least 2-3 years of managerial experience is required.
Skills:
Familiar with engineering standards and ability to read P&ID, Mechanical and electrical drawings. Experience in working with contractors and government authorities. Proven experience of Lean and Six Sigma Continuous Improvement techniques. Strong knowledge of Chemical hazard, Safety, and Quality management systems. Experience in managing plant turnover and electrical shutdown is an advantage. Knowledge in AutoCAD, SolidWorks, and SAP is preferred. Create presentations and organize/lead team meetings. Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills with the ability to think outside the box.

Bachelor's Degree in Engineering
