Job Summary:
The Completions and Stimulations department is a design-focused group of engineers specializing in the development of technologies for the Oil and Gas Industry.
We are offering an exciting opportunity for an intern working as a Firmware Engineer student during the summer for weeks.
The individual selected for internship will be a design engineering student with varied technical interests and demonstrated engineering skills in their academic setting.
The individual will learn and grow their ability to solve challenging technical problems focused on embedded systems.The engineering student will work closely with embedded systems integrated into measurement subs, thru-tubing packers and/or similar technology used in the Oil and Gas Industry.
The selected candidate will have an opportunity to experience and learn about all phases of the product life cycle from concept development and detailed design through manufacturing, integration, testing, and post-delivery support.
The engineer student may be responsible for implementing and testing embedded hardware and firmware on a variety of platforms, microcontrollers, microprocessors, and mixed signal designs.
Additional learning opportunities related to digital-signal processing (DSP) design, printed circuit board (PCB) design and evaluation of technology improvements will be provided to the engineering student through this internship.
The intern working in this area will develop significant experience in the following areas:Good written and verbal communication skills.
Analytical mindset and strong problem-solving abilities.
Proficient in at least one programming language such as C, C++, Java or Python.
Working knowledge of LabView.
Code Composer Studio/Eclipse/IAR with MCU/DSP programming, TI's MCU/DSP experience.
Hands-on laboratory experience with instrumentation, test equipment, and debug/test methods.
Perform in a collaborative engineering environment working closely with multi-disciplinary teams.
Working knowledge of MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
Fluent in English; knowledge of additional languages is a plus.
Basic Qualifications:
Proficiency in C/C++ is a plus.
Hands on electronic assembly/installation or lab experience is a plus.
Candidate must be working towards a Bachelors, Masters, or PhD in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
Demonstrated academic excellence with a GPA of 3.0 or higher.Must be eligible to work in the United States of America.

Work Environment:
This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
The role also includes maintenance of the electronic lab, and uses lab equipment such as solder station, rework station, microscope to inspect, rework PCB assemblies.
Supervisory Responsibility:
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
