Job Overview

The Coordinator Leadership Development will be responsible for the development, management, and implementation of identified District student, staff, teacher, and leader leadership development programs.

The incumbent will develop programming, establish community partnerships, and coordinate engagement experiences to support student leadership programs including the superintendent student advisory network and the Board student leadership programs.

The incumbent will support the implementation of strong teacher and leader pipelines through development of partnerships, program design, and facilitation of leadership development opportunities.

The Coordinator Leadership Development will provide strong leadership and mentorship of participants in programs to support the growth and development of staff and students in alignment with the District mission and vision.


Position Description

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Plan, Organize, and Evaluate Leadership Development Programs

  • Design and implement leadership development programs for students, staff, teachers, and leaders in alignment with the district's comprehensive leadership development plan
  • Develop, design, and implement identified student leadership programs including board leadership 101 and 102 and the Superintendent Student Voices advisory network
  • Develop, design, and implement identified staff leadership programs including teacher and leader cohorts in alignment with district priorities
  • Oversee and manage department student internships including recruitment, hiring, management of projects, and evaluation of impact at conclusion of designated internship opportunities
  • Conduct stakeholder feedback for leaders including survey administration, assimilations, and focus groups to leadership development through engagement in reflective practice and continued improvement

Build Capacity to Support Implementation of Programming

  • Organize and communicate effectively to engage internal and external stakeholders and provide positive interactions that enhance and build upon the FBISD organizational vision, mission, brand, position and reputation, related to student leadership programs including leadership 101, and 102, and student voices
  • Plan and implement daily activities, including communication, administrative and support activities necessary to develop and secure resources to support positive experiences for students, educators, parents and community members involved in student and staff leadership development programs
  • Establish an annual learning plan for leadership programs that engages participants, builds capacity, and connects members with district and community leaders
  • Seek grants and other sources of funding to support student and staff leadership programs
  • Support the development of teacher and leader pipelines including job embedded learning experiences that promote their growth and development to advance district priorities
  • Oversee and manage leadership assessment systems that support recruitment and development of leaders and their teams
  • Assist in the development of recommended policies and procedures aligned to student leadership
  • Attend state and national workshops/conferences and serve on committees to advance leadership development aligned to district priorities

Collaborate

  • Collaborate with campus principals and district leaders to recruit participants, develop content, and monitor implementation of yearlong leadership development programs aligned to district priorities
  • Lead, organize, facilitate and supervise activities and presentations for meetings/sessions, community service activities for student voices, leadership 101 and leadership 102 student programs
  • Establish community partnerships that advance leadership development program goals, improve community engagement, and provide service opportunities
  • Assess and evaluate the success of leadership development projects including presentations, leadership and community service projects for future planning
  • Serve as a member of campus support teams to engage in instructional walkthroughs and facilitate campus support structures that promote development of leaders at all levels

Administrative

  • Supervise K12 learning opportunities to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal governing bodies, policies, and procedures
  • Prepare summary reports and data related to assigned programming, leadership assessments, and stakeholder feedback to support continuous improvement
  • Keep abreast of and adhere to state, federal, and UIL guidelines, rules and regulations related to student performance, and those concerning other supervised program areas to ensure alignment
  • Develop and administer a budget based upon alignment to district instructional priorities and ensure that operations are cost effective and managed wisely
  • Maintain confidentiality and appropriate decorum regarding sensitive information
