Health, Safety and Environmental Manager
The
Health, Safety and Environmental Manager will be responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining HSE programs, policies, and procedures.

The role involves conducting risk assessments and analysis as well as creating programs to ensure safe working environments and compliance with relevant regulations.

Ultimately this role will create, train, and maintain safe work environments that are compliant with federal, state, and local regulations and standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop and implement HSE Programs ensuring that appropriate execution and deployment of programs are taking place, and the programs are delivering what we had expected them to achieve.
  • Implement and manage sitespecific processes to reduce or eliminate accidents, workplace hazards, unsafe acts, and environmental liabilities.
  • Maintain communication and collaboration with other departments to provide technical resource guidance and to ensure consistent implementation of HSE process tools that support company safety plans and objectives.
  • Support business leaders and managers in the implementation of the HSE programs and initiatives for their areas of business.
  • Monitor and analyze HSE performance to identify improvement opportunities.
  • Conduct HSE training relative to functional needs, and compliance standards (i.e. OSHA, DOT, State Department of Health).
  • Perform accident investigation and root cause analysis for workplace injuries and vehicle collisions.
  • Ensure mandatory training requirements are consistently met and develop regional/functional customization and implementation planning.
  • Perform HSE audits and site inspections relative to regional and functional needs.
  • The HSE Manager will also be responsible for accident investigation and training employees regarding safe work practices.
  • Responsible for the maintenance of administrative records related to health and safety programs.
  • Conduct HSE training relative to functional needs and compliance standards (i.e., OSHA, DOT, State Department of Health).
  • Ensure compliance with all company safety policies and requirements.
  • Conduct facility inspections and risk assessments and ensure all findings and observations are addressed.
  • Perform job site inspections to verify compliance with Federal, State, and Local regulations as well as company safety policies.
  • Assure project managers and employees adhere to company policies and practices while performing assigned work adhering to inspection protocol and utilization of company assets.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or five years of related experience, preferred within a Health, Safety, and Environment team embedding the safety culture and protocol.
  • 5+ years of related experience and 2 years of program management experience
  • Previous experience working in a field operations capacity in a utility or telecommunications environment is highly desirable.
  • OSHA Confined Space Training.
  • Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or related certification(s) is strongly preferred.
  • Direct work experience interacting with regulatory agencies and compliance officers.
  • Working knowledge of federal, state, and local health, safety, and environmental regulations.
  • Previous experience implementing an HSE program.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
