  • Minimum 10 years of applicable experience successfully managing turnarounds/outages offshore (preferably). Also experience in project management and/or engineering experience. Must already be located in Houston, TX

Job Summary:


The Turnaround Lead manages the execution of Turnaround (TAR) activities for the Gulf of Mexico (GOM) offshore facilities, taking them from conception through final execution.

The TAR covers a wide range of variability from piping modifications and additions, vessels cleaning and inspections, valve maintenance and/or replacement as well as integrity scopes.

These scopes address varied business objectives such as environmental compliance, safety risk reduction, maintenance, and operability.

The Turnaround Lead works closely with multiple stakeholders including Operations, Engineering, Integrity, Global Supply Chain, and Regulatory to deliver successful projects.

This role will be based in Houston, TX, reporting to the Manager MR&I Projects. Offshore visits will be required during TAR planning and execution phases.


Job Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Plan and manage the entire Turnaround effort/development consistent with defined process, approved TAR premise, objectives, and work list.
  • Safely develop and execute turnarounds.
  • Manage interactive planning and work list development sessions.
  • Develop and maintain operating rhythm to ensure deliverables are routinely achieved.
  • Schedule, facilitate and document STO planning meetings.
  • Organizes and leads gate reviews including document collection required for these reviews.
  • Ensure budgeted Turnarounds are delivered safely on time, on budget with completed COS (conditions of satisfaction)
  • Perform TAR/outage readiness assessments and implement gapclosure plans, as needed.
  • Responsible for providing leadership, oversight, and direction to the TAR team.
  • Provide routine TAR updates and reporting to key stakeholders.
  • Ensure EHS requirements are continuously embedded in the Turnaround work process. Capture, discuss and facilitate TAR Lessons Learned
  • Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities):
  • Able to perform multiple tasks in parallel while leading shifting priorities.
  • Knowledge of construction best practices and offshore facilities standards and design methods is a plus Must be able to understand business issues and direct favorable outcomes.
  • Ability to energize others, ability to act critically and deliver results.
**Skills/Attributes: - Knowledge of work management system, corrective/preventive maintenance planning, turnaround/outage planning.

  • Knowledge of typical offshore project front end deliverables
  • Project management skills including ability to organize, plan and deliver results per a business timeline.
  • Knowledge of project cost estimating, scheduling, and risk assessment
  • Ability to effectively communicate (verbal and written), including the ability to develop technical reports and presentations.
  • Ability to manage external construction services.
  • Ability to work effectively under stress and time pressures.

Working Conditions:


  • Work is primarily conducted in an office environment (Private or Semi-Private Office) but also requires occasional travel to offsite work locations.
  • Field duties require outdoor work in a construction site type atmosphere;
  • Interaction with other team members, as well as supervisors and client personnel.
  • Working on a construction site or in plant and/or shop areas around production machinery with extreme noise levels
  • Must be able to wear safety equipment as required by the safety department for personal protection.
  • May be at more than one job site in a day and must be able to tolerate climate changes.
  • May be required to travel out of town on a periodic basis.

  • Must be able to lift and carry five (20) pounds.
  • Sufficient clarity of speech and hearing or other communication capabilities which permits employee to communicate effectively.
  • Ability to sit for prolonged periods of time.
  • Sufficient vision or other powers of observation which permits employee to conduct analysis and investigations.
  • Sufficient manual dexterity which permits the employee to perform routine office duties;
  • Sufficient personal mobility and physical reflexes to perform office duties and travel when necessary to offsite locations.
