    **Job Description and Job Responsibilites**

    **Job Title: Cook**

    **Job Summary:**

    Prepares and cooks food according to HACCP and all regulatory standards including title 22 & Joint Commission.

    **Essential Job Duties:**

    Prepares and cooks to order foods requiring short preparation time.

    Reads food order or receives verbal instructions on food required by patron, prepares and cooks food according to instruction. Has knowledge about different diets and consistencys.

    Provides the highest quality of service to customers at all times.

    Follows basic recipes and/or product directions for preparing, seasoning, and cooking.

    Prepares foods by operating a variety of kitchen equipment to measure and mix ingredients

    Follows safe food handling procedures for food preparation, cooking, holding and storage of all food items and assists in the monitoring of HACCP. Takes corrective action as needed.

    Check temperatures and logs results per procedure.

    Cleans and sanitizes work stations and equipment.

    Assists with cafeteria set-up and break down of hot food items.

    May be responsible for hot server position.

    All other duties as assigned.

    **Job Requirements**

    **Education/Experience:**

    High school graduate preferred

    1 to 2 years of current experience in an acute care setting preferred

    Serv-safe preferred

    **Licensure/Certifications:** None
