    Description


    The Benefits Specialist is responsible for providing assistance and support to associates regarding employee benefits matters, including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, disability benefits, retirement savings, flexible spending accounts, and health savings accounts.

    You will interact with associates and vendors to resolve issues,, maintain benefits records, and ensure the proper implementation and maintenance of benefit coverage.

    Responsible for interacting with associates in the assigned region(s) throughout each business day. For some issues, communicate with supervisors/managers. In addition, interact with vendor contacts. Communication typically involves phone, email, or written correspondence.

    Process and key various leaves such as Short-Term Disability (STD), Long-Term Disability (LTD), Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA), and Military Leave of Absence program.

    Handle calls from and provide service to associates regarding employee benefits matters. Process system tasks generated by associates' benefit elections. Research issues with third party administrators and provide answers to associates' inquiries. Provide information and answer questions regarding Company benefits to employees and Company leadership. Process National Medical Support Notices (NMSNs) and administers COBRA paperwork and payments as assigned. Send and key certain required notices to eligible associates as appropriate. Coordinate special communications (emails and mailings of benefits information as needed). Key life insurance claim details into life insurance carrier's system. Provide back-up support to teammates as needed.

    For this role, a High School Diploma or GED is required. An Associate Degree is preferred.

    We require 2 years of benefits/human resources administration experience (equivalent education and/or commensurate experience in the Less Than Truckload (LTL) industry may be substituted in lieu of this requirement) and previous experience using a Human Capital Management (HCM) system.

    We prefer if you have previous LTL experience and experience using Workday.
