- Performs BLS (Basic Life Support), CPR (cardiopulmonary resuscitation), and other emergency responses.
- Provides health care support as directed by the immediate supervisor.
- Follow a prescribed health care plan or protocol.
- Take the patient's vital signs.
- Identifies patient's allergies.
- Provides specimens for transport to an outside laboratory.
- Provides basic support to licensed medical providers (e.g., lifting, transferring and holding children, stocking and cleaning clinic rooms, and maintaining supply rooms).
- Provides direct daily living care for residents: bathes dresses and feeds residents; moves, lifts or transfers residents.
- Performs lab controls to ensure accuracy of equipment and materials.
- Interacts with multiple computer software systems and websites to enter and receive information as appropriate.
- Documents completed tests and results in a written and/or computerized format.
- Records appropriate procedure codes on documents in a written format.
- Ensures confidentiality of client information according to state and federal guidelines.
- Complies with and adapts to current state and federal programs and policies and all applicable laws.
- Serves clients with dignity and respect in a professional manner.
- Verifies appropriate codes based on procedures.
- Calculates Body Mass Index (BMI) using standardized formula.
- Demonstrates responsibilities for other co-workers' job duties to cover breaks, lunches, absences, etc., to ensure and maintain interpersonal relationships and an efficient work flow.
- Interviews the client to determine the purpose of the visit.
- Questions the client for medical history and understanding of clinical procedures.
- Assesses the client for requested and/or additional services.
- Obtains the necessary vital signs, measurements, screenings and laboratory tests.
- Maintains positive, constructive and cooperative communication with supervisors or peers.
- Serves as a liaison between staff, vendors and other external sources.
- Informs clients of programs, procedures and the accessibility of services.

JOB SUMMARY
Under general supervision, is responsible for nurse assisting duties of average difficulty in providing basic support to licensed health care providers; and performs related work as required.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS TO PERFORM WORK
Knowledge
While performing the duties of this position, the employee is frequently required to sit, reach and manipulate objects, tools and/or controls. The position requires mobility. Duties may involve moving materials weighing up to 10 pounds on a regular basis. Manual dexterity and coordination are required over 50% of the work period while operating equipment, such as computer keyboard, mouse, calculator and similar machines. The position requires hearing, mental acuity, speaking, and visual acuity.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Most work is performed in a well-lighted, modern office setting with centrally controlled heating and air conditioning. Full-time 37.5 hours weekly, Monday-Friday.
