This Senior Accountant will play a pivotal role in the Accounting Department supporting our milling business.

This position will participate in the design and implementation of accounting processes and controls and be a trusted resource for the operation.

This job is in Kansas City, MO.

Provide additional and ad hoc support to plant management, merchandisers, and company leadershipTake ownership for account reconciliation process, maintain internal controls and ensure procedures and processes are followedAssist with A/P processes as neededAssist with internal and external auditsRequired Education and Experience:

Bachelor's degree in accounting; Masters in Accountancy or MBA preferred5 years experienceStrong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)Experience with commodity processing/manufacturing preferredMindset to continuously improve processes and procedures where possibleStrong analytical and problem-solving skillsProficient application of management and internal controls (SOX, COSO)Proficient in Microsoft ExcelPhysical Demands and RequirementsThis job is not physically strenuous.

You must be able to sit at a desk and be able to utilize computersThis job requires the ability to read and comprehend written and oral operational and safety instructions and related rules, policies and memos, and to communicate clearly with your co-workers and supervisorsIt is important to have vision and hearing skills that help you communicate with good interpersonal skillsAll candidates shall be subject to background checks.
