Responsibilities:

The Senior Accountant will be responsible for various general ledger activities including reconciliations, preparation of entries, billing processes, and support of the month-end close among other duties.

Responsibilities:

Support month-end close processes to ensure timely and accurate reporting
Prepare standard and recurring journal entries
Prepare account reconciliations and follow up on any reconciling items
Support AR/Billing, related account reconciliations, and contract closeout process
Assists in gathering documentation for various auditors and requests by regulatory agencies
Perform detailed analysis of GL accounts and trends
Identifies potential for automation in processes and provide suggestions
Understand and maintain accounting policy documents
Collaborates with others on special projects
Performs other accounting related duties as assigned by management
Support for external audit activities

Qualifications:

Requirements:

Bachelors Degree or equivalent related experience
Experience in Microsoft Excel
5+ years of experience in accounting related position in government contracting
Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
Self-starter with and solid communication skills

Preferred Qualifications:

CPA
Deltek Costpoint 7.0 or higher
Understanding of government contract billing process
