    Job Summary

    The Career Services Supervisor II - is a key team member in the operation of Neighborhood House (NH)'s, employment and training programs. This position will report to the Economic Opportunity Program Director and has primary responsibility for providing staff supervision, assisting in the oversight, review and analysis of career services and ensuring quality and accurate outcomes for program participants. Currently, NH career services programming includes career counselling and employment services, job seeker skill development, and access to support services and training, and other resources.

    This position will assist in the planning, design and implementation of the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) programs and other programs funded by the Workforce Development Council of Seattle, King County. The Career Supervisor II will work closely with NH's economic opportunity team to promote service integration and offer clients appropriate services from NH's comprehensive menu of available programs. This position will be primarily located in Tukwila but will be fairly mobile, as staff on the team are located in Central Seattle, South Seattle, West Seattle, Tukwila, Kent and Auburn. One day per week can be remote.

    Responsibilities

    Supervision (50%)
    • Provide supervision of a direct service team, ensuring all program regulations, protocols, and client services are in compliance with Neighborhood House and funder guidelines.
    • Provide solution-focused oversight and coaching to direct service staff to help meet program goals, problem solve, and ensure effective delivery of services to clients.
    • With support from the Program Director, regularly observe staff, appraise ongoing performance, and provide regular, motivational formal and informal feedback.
    • Monitor staff hours, supplies, and other expenses to keep within program budgets.
    • Coordinate staff trainings based on observations and analysis of staff needs, program leadership, and funder requests.
    • Be available to staff to answer questions and troubleshoot problems.
    Program Quality and Compliance (50%)
    • Work closely with program leadership to develop and monitor documentation systems for tracking the multiple deadlines associated with the administrative requirements of the program. Train staff on proper use of these systems; monitor for compliance in collaboration with the Compliance Coordinator.
    • Analyze and evaluate program quality and client services, making modifications and adjustments to ensure the best possible client services.
    • Participate in internal and external leadership opportunities as assigned; represent NH's collaborative approach to community support.
    • Continually broaden expertise in service area and serve as a resource for the team. Review reports and literature/resource to identify best practices. Communicate with program leadership about proposed program changes to improve the client experience.
    • Maintain, review for accuracy, and approve key project documents, including regular program reports, evaluations, and satisfaction surveys; ensure program reports are completed accurately and in a timely matter to meet program compliance.
    • Perform other duties as assigned.
    Qualifications

    Minimum Qualifications:
    • Minimum of four years' professional experience in case management, employment services, adult education, and/or other social service programs with adults or youth.
    • One year of experience coordinating and/or supervising a team.
    • Demonstrated ability to lead a team through understanding and adhering to complex Federal and State regulations and completing extensive technical documentation.
    • Strong interpersonal skills with a demonstrated ability to provide feedback constructively to individuals
    • Demonstrated ability to thrive in a culturally diverse workplace dedicated to equity and inclusion.

    • Very organized with a high level of attention to detail.
    • Strong professional and ethical judgement, particularly in the human services context.

    • Self-starter, highly organized, dependable, have strong problem-solving skills and be able to manage multiple complex problems.
    • Must be proficient in key computer applications (MS Office/Word/Excel/Access).
    • Must have reliable, independent transportation.
    • This is a hybrid position that requires 4 days onsite at one of our sites.
    Desired Qualifications:
    • Associate's Degree or Bachelor's Degree in Human Services, Social Work or a related field. An equivalent qualification may be considered in combination with the required experience
    Required Credentials
    • Must pass Neighborhood House background check requirements.
    • Position requires Washington State bi-annual criminal background re-check.
    Post-Hire on-the-job Training Requirements
    • Current First Aid Certificate within 30 days of hire.
    • Current CPR Certificate within 30 days of hire.
    • Sexual Harassment Training within 30 days of hire.
    • Child Abuse and Neglect training (within 2 weeks of hire).
