    About the Job

    We are looking for a Data Engineer to join our team.

    As a Data Engineer, you will create, modify, and test the code, forms, and scripts that construct the data sets that drive our Data Science and Business Intelligence capabilities. This work is derived from specifications developed in collaboration with those consuming or interacting with those data sets. In addition, you may develop and write solutions to store, locate, and retrieve specific documents, data, and information and distribute through multiple methods. You will provide solutions to a wide range of difficult problems, with solutions that are imaginative, practical, and consistent with organizational objectives.

    The ideal candidate is a quick learner who has the desire to grow in an entrepreneurial/fast-growing work environment.

    This is a full-time position to work in an office located in Burr Ridge, IL, which is suburban of Chicago.

    Responsibilities

    ● Architect a unified data platform that integrates real-time stream processing, self-service data lakes, and robust ETL pipelines.

    ● Design and implement a scalable data lake, focusing on data integration and curation.

    ● Develop and maintain an insights pipeline to support Business Intelligence (BI) and advanced analytics use cases.

    ● Implement data governance and security protocols to ensure data integrity and compliance.

    ● Data modeling and building the right optimized, reusable datasets.

    Qualifications

    ● a bachelor's degree in computer science or another relevant discipline, and a minimum of five years of relevant experience in data engineering.

    ● Proven experience as a Data Site Reliability Engineer or a similar role, with a strong focus on data infrastructure management

    ● Proficiency in data technologies, such as relational databases, data warehousing, big data platforms (e.g., Hadoop, Spark), data streaming (e.g., Kafka), and cloud services (e.g., AWS, GCP, Azure).

    ● Strong programming skills in languages like Python (numpy, pandas, pyspark), Java (Core Java, Spark with Java, functional interface, lambda, java collections), or Scala, with experience in automation and scripting.

    ● Conceptually familiar or interested in learning graph technologies (e.g. databases, data models, query languages)

    ● Experience working with AWS technologies
