    We are seeking an experienced Senior Staff Electrical Engineer who will play a pivotal role in developing advanced FPGA based camera solutions for our cutting-edge DNA sequencing instrument.

    This is an incredible opportunity for someone who is passionate about high performance image sensor applications in bioscience. We are looking for candidates with a solid background in high-speed digital interface to image sensors. Advanced experience with Xilinx or Altera FPGA Development is a must. This role will report to Director of Electrical Engineering and will be a San Diego based role.

    Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
    Contribution to overall imaging system architecture and verificationTranslate user needs into technical specResponsible for advanced FPGA development and qualification projectsPerform high speed digital circuit designCreate high throughput PCBA schematics and layoutHandle microcontroller programming and debuggingLead Interdisciplinary troubleshooting and root cause analysisManage technical collaboration with key suppliers and ODMsDrive design reviews and technical presentationsGenerate detailed technical documents and work instructionsWork with supply chain and manufacturing on production transfer activitiesEducation and Experience:Bachelor's or Master's engineering degree in electrical engineering, electronics, computer engineering or related technical disciplines10+ years of direct experience in developing and testing of relevant electronic products, covering subsystems:High speed FPGA interface to image sensorXilinx serial transceiverXilinx Aurora link, USB, SPI, I2C and CAN busHigh throughput digital system PCBA and cable harnessEmbedded controller systemA/D and D/A converterAdvanced experience in FPGA solution architecture, coding and qualificationExperienced in firmware coding and debugging with C (required) / Python (preferred)

    Demonstrated collaboration skills in order to drive good electrical, FW, and systems design practicesExperienced in technical project team lead role (preferred)Ability to work in a fast paced, interdisciplinary environment and quickly adjust to rapidly evolving technology and prioritiesStrong written and verbal communication skills, capable of clearly explaining technical issues, ideas, and project status to peers and managementPhysical Requirements:
    Moves lab equipment weighing up to 20 pounds in lab environmentLocation: San DiegoTravel: Up to 10% domestically or as needed

    Job Type:
    Exempt/Full-time

    Base Compensation Pay Range:
    $145,000 - $189,000In addition to base compensation noted above, you will be eligible for stock options, discretionary annual bonus, no cost health insurance plans, 401k with company match, and flexible paid time off

    Base compensation will depend on multiple factors, including geographic location, qualifications, and experience.
