Job Summary:
The

Estimating/Purchasing

Analyst serves as an initial point of contact for builder plan submissions and oversees the procurement of materials and services for J&J Custom Homes.

This position partners with operations to ensure trade partner adherence to scope of work, budget and scheduling guidelines.

Supervisory Responsibilities:
This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Complete detailed and itemized material quantity estimates from builder plans.
Work with company personnel to ensure profitable job outcome.
Develop strong product knowledge to recommend best products and services available.
Work with Director of Operations to bid, negotiate and approve trade partner contracts.
Partner with trade partners and suppliers to take advantage of cost saving opportunities.
Responsible for developing the budget for each build.
Manage Field Supervisor to ensure trade partner supervision and adherence to quality and safety guidelines.
Oversee rebate process.
Provide frequent reporting to ownership while recommending strategic methods to reduce costs.
Conduct field supervision of trades for current rental home community project.
Perform industry benchmarking studies to ensure competitiveness.
Monitor supply purchasing of internal field management team.
Regularly travel to job sites to monitor trade performance.
Other duties as assigned.

Thorough understanding of materials and supplies used in the company.
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
Thorough understanding of current construction practices.
Construction management experience.

Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Construction Management or Supply Chain Management.
Purchasing experience in the construction industry a plus.
Blueprint reading and estimating experience preferred.
Hands-on field management experience preferred.

Physical Requirements:
Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
Must be able to stand and walk for long periods at a time.
Must be able to traverse a construction site.
Must be able to lift up to 15 lbs., pushing and pulling abilities.
