    Description
    We are looking for an Assistant Teacher in our Infant Classroom This position collaborates with our existing teachers, implementing center curriculum to provide a safe, nurturing & stimulating environment for our youngest children.

    To be considered for this role, you would need:
    • At least two years of experience working with infants & young children.
    • A CDA or Associate's degree in Early Childhood Education, Children & Families or other related field preferred.
    • To pass all required state, federal, and child abuse background checks.
    • To be 18 years or older and legally able to work in the United States.
    • Must be able to lift a minimum of 40lbs., sit on the floor w/ children, maintain energy level throughout the day, have proficient literacy skills & demonstrate positive communication skills with staff, parents, guardians, and children.

    Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
    • Supervision and evaluation of all students under their care.
    • Assisting students with their personal hygiene as needed.
    • Coordinating activities with other teachers & classes.
    • Assisting the director & assistant directors with designated activities including, but not limited to:
      • Keystone Stars activities & procedures.
      • Following OPENING & CLOSING Procedures as applicable.
      • Classroom maintenance, cleaning, and inventory.
      • Attendance and participation in monthly staff meetings.
      • Must strictly adhere to and enforce all BLA policies & procedures (for both staff & clients).

    This listing is only for individuals interested in full-time employment. For candidates with the minimum required experience & education, pay starts at $15.50 per hour. For candidates with the required 2+ years of experience & a CDA or Associate's degree, pay is up to $17.50 per hour (related to experience & education), with an increase based on performance after completing your first 90 days. Bright Light Academy is open five days a week, but staff work a FOUR-DAY work week. Full time staff are also eligible for paid holidays, time off, sick days, annual pay increases related to performance & reduced child care.
