The Houston-Galveston Area Council is one of the largest regional planning commissions in the country with a diverse service area of 13 counties and more than 7 million people.

What will I be doing?
ü Devise and execute comprehensive communication strategies designed to effectively convey the Gulf Coast Workforce Board's mission, goals, and initiatives


ü Ensure seamless collaboration with the communications department and other service providers, under the direction of the Human Services Director and H-GAC's contract liaison, to guarantee the delivery of contractual obligations.


ü Oversee the multi-channel distribution of information encompassing digital platforms, traditional media, and printed materials for the 28 career offices.

ü Serve as the primary point of contact for media inquiries, and proactively coordinate press releases and media interviews.

ü Internal dissemination of information, programs, and services within the career offices

ü Safeguard and enhance the Gulf Coast Workforce Board's brand identity by consistently adhering to messaging and visual standards.

ü Update the Board's standards and guidelines related to public outreach and branding as needed.


Key Qualifications
ü Demonstrated experience in strategic communications, public relations, or related roles.

ü Exceptional leadership and project management skills.

ü Outstanding written and verbal communication abilities.

ü Proficiency in digital marketing, social media management, and content creation.

ü Exceptional understanding of workforce development.

ü Aptitude for collaborative teamwork within a diverse and dynamic environment.


Do you have
ü Bachelor's degree in an applicable academic discipline or related field of study

ü 5 years of experience working with local government, nonprofit programs, schools, or in job-related duties


Preferred Qualifications
ü Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, or a related field
