    The focus for the Community Safety team is making riders and drivers feel safe and comfortable while riding or driving with Lyft and ensuring that our riders and drivers make it safely to their destination every time.

    From prevention to intervention and accountability, the Community Safety team ensures that the Lyft community continues to be trusted and inclusive.


    The Senior Director, Product for the Community Safety team will be responsible for our Safety product portfolio across the whole company, partnering with other teams to create safety solutions for all our customers.

    They will lead the team responsible for analyzing, investigating, identifying, and building product solutions to promote both rider and driver safety through the entire Lyft rideshare experience.

    We're looking for a customer-obsessed senior product leader to create category-defining safety features as we relentlessly pursue our mission to improve people's lives with the world's best transportation.


    Responsibilities & Experience:

    • Experience and Skills: Possess over 14 years of product management or relevant tech experience, with a strong foundation in Trust & Safety leadership preferred. Exhibit exceptional leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills, with a proven ability to inspire teams and stakeholders.
    • Strategic Vision and Execution: Develop and implement a long-term strategic safety vision for Lyft that prioritizes customer-centricity and leverages research, data science, design, and engineering expertise to craft and execute a product roadmap focused on enhancing both the digital and physical aspects of the rideshare experience.
    • Leadership and Collaboration: Serve as a trusted advisor to executive leadership and foster cross-functional teamwork to drive product development, while managing and mentoring a team of product managers towards achieving Lyft's objectives.
    • Innovative Problem-Solving: Demonstrate a forward-thinking and analytical approach to problem-solving, with a focus on tackling unsolved challenges, scaling solutions for broad deployment, and maintaining a commitment to delivering superior customer experiences. Experience in leading distributed teams and managing multiple priorities is essential, alongside flexibility and adaptability in a dynamic product environment.

    This role will be in-office on a hybrid schedule - Team Members will be expected to work in the San Francisco office 3 days per week on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays.

    Additionally, hybrid roles have the flexibility to work from anywhere for up to 4 weeks per year.

    The expected range of base pay for this position in the San Francisco Bay area is $292,500 - $325,000. Salary ranges are dependent on a variety of factors, including qualifications, experience and geographic location. Range is not inclusive of potential equity offering, bonus or benefits.
