- Reconciles and maintains schedules on various general ledger accounts and prepare journal entries for posting in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
- Tracks and reconciles intercompany transfers.
- Performs grant management including budget preparation, submitting draws, and grant compliance.
- Performs and reconciles fund accounting.
- Approves payroll submitted expenses and prepares journal entry allocation entry and bank transfers for payroll funding.
- Prepares cash receipt entries for bank transfers.
- Prepares investment account journal entries and reconciliations.
- Manages credit card purchases and approve charges.
- Serves as the liaison between the third-party IT support company and employees.
- Oversees internal financial statement review and accruals.
- Prepares external governmental reporting to HUD and MSHDA.
- Assists with budgeting and forecasting.
- Assists in preparing supporting documents for annual audits of financial statements.
- Comply with federal, state and company policies, procedures, and regulations.
- Engages in ongoing educational opportunities to update job knowledge.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Associates degree in accounting.
- Have a minimum of 2-5 years of accounting experience
- General business and non-profit experience (preferred).
- Experience with multi-entity organizations (preferred).
- Experience with Blackbaud's Financial Edge software (beneficial but not required).
- Knowledge of accounting principles and practices and the analysis and reporting of financial data.
